Your House Clearance Could Be Free — Or We Could Pay You

Every clearance is assessed individually. If your property contains items of resale value, that value is deducted from the cost of the clearance — and in some cases the clearance is completely free, or we pay you.

How Our Pricing Works

We assess every clearance on its own merits. The value of your contents always works in your favour.

Best case

We Pay You

If the contents of your property — antiques, quality furniture, collectables, appliances — have a resale value that exceeds our clearance costs, we carry out the clearance free of charge and pay you the difference directly. Payment is made by bank transfer or cash.

Typical for: estates with antiques, quality furniture, or high-value collectables.

Common

Reduced Cost

If your property has a mix of saleable items and general waste, we deduct the resale value of anything we can sell or donate from your clearance bill. This can significantly reduce — and sometimes eliminate — the cost, depending on what we find.

Typical for: mixed contents with some furniture, appliances, or items of modest value.

Standard

Standard Charge

Where contents have little or no resale value — general household waste, old clothing, worn furniture — we charge based on the volume of items, labour, and disposal costs. We provide a fixed quote before starting, with no hidden extras.

Typical for: heavily worn contents, general household waste, or properties already partially cleared.

Indicative Price Guide

The ranges below are examples only, to help you budget. Your actual price depends on the volume, contents, and access — and may be lower once any resale value has been applied.

Property type Indicative range
Single room or partial clearance £100 – £200
1-bed flat or small house £200 – £350
2-bed house £300 – £500
3-bed house £450 – £700
4+ bed house or large estate Price on assessment

These figures assume contents with little or no resale value. If your property contains antiques, quality furniture, appliances, or other saleable items, your actual cost will be lower — and in many cases the clearance may be free or we may pay you.

What Affects the Price

Volume of contents

The more items there are to remove, the more vehicle space, labour, and disposal capacity is required. A full 4-bed house takes significantly more resource than a single room.

Resale value of items

This is the single biggest factor in your favour. Antiques, quality furniture, working appliances, collectables, and good-condition clothing all reduce your cost. We assess fairly and transparently.

Access to the property

Narrow stairs, no parking, upper floors without a lift, or restricted access can add to the time and effort involved. We always factor this in during our assessment.

Special disposal items

Fridges, freezers, and mattresses carry mandatory recycling fees. Hazardous materials such as old paint or chemicals also have specific disposal requirements. We will always tell you about these in advance.

Distance from Worcester

We cover Worcester and the surrounding areas. Properties within the core coverage area attract no travel surcharge. For more distant locations, a small travel contribution may apply — we will always be upfront about this.

Urgency and scheduling

We offer same-day quotes and aim to be on-site within 24–48 hours where needed. Standard bookings are priced normally; urgent or out-of-hours requests may carry a small premium.

Pricing Questions

Can my clearance really be free?

Yes — genuinely. If the resale value of the items in your property exceeds our costs for labour, transport, and disposal, we carry out the clearance at no charge to you. In some cases, where contents are particularly valuable, we may also pay you directly. The only way to find out is a free, no-obligation assessment.

How do you value items?

We assess furniture, antiques, collectables, appliances, and other goods against current resale values. We are straightforward about what we believe items are worth and will always explain how any value has been applied to your quote. Our probate valuation service is also available if a formal written valuation is required for estate administration.

Do I need to sort or pack anything before you arrive?

No — please leave everything as it is. We sort through the entire property ourselves, identifying items for resale, donation, recycling, and disposal. Sorting in advance could actually reduce the resale value we are able to apply to your quote.

Are the prices shown inclusive of VAT?

Worcester House Clearance is not VAT registered, so there is no VAT to add. The price you are quoted is the price you pay — no hidden extras.

How do I get an accurate quote?

The quickest way is to send us a few photos via WhatsApp — we can usually provide a firm quote the same day. Alternatively, we can arrange a free no-obligation visit to assess the property in person. Contact us using any of the buttons on this page.
