Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the services provided by Worcester House Clearance ("Worcester House Clearance", "we", "us", "our") to our customers. By requesting a quote, accepting a quote, or instructing us to carry out any work, you agree to these terms.

1. Quotations

• All quotations are free and carry no obligation.
• Quotes are based on the information you provide. If the actual scope of work differs materially from what was described, we reserve the right to revise the quoted price. We will notify you of any change before proceeding.
• Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
• A quote becomes a binding agreement only when you have confirmed acceptance in writing (including by email or text message).

2. Your Responsibilities

• You must ensure that you have the legal authority to instruct us to clear the property and remove the items in question.
• You must inform us in advance of any items that should not be removed — we cannot be held responsible for items removed that were not identified as excluded.
• You must disclose any known hazards at the property, including asbestos, vermin, structural risks, or hazardous substances.
• You are responsible for removing or securing any valuables, cash, or important documents before we attend, unless you have specifically arranged for us to assist with this.
• You must ensure adequate access to the property on the agreed date.

3. Our Services

• We will carry out the agreed clearance with reasonable care and skill.
• We are a licensed waste carrier registered with the Environment Agency. All waste is disposed of legally and responsibly. We provide waste transfer receipts on request.
• Where possible, we donate reusable items to local charities and recycle materials rather than disposing of them to landfill.
• We do not guarantee specific disposal routes for individual items unless agreed in writing in advance.

4. Payment

• Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of quotation. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due on completion of the work.
• We accept payment by bank transfer, cash, or other methods agreed in advance.
• Late payments may be subject to statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

• You may cancel or reschedule your booking at no charge if you give us at least 48 hours' notice.
• Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may incur a charge to cover our preparation costs and lost availability — this will not exceed 25% of the quoted price.
• We reserve the right to reschedule in exceptional circumstances (e.g. vehicle breakdown, severe weather). We will notify you as early as possible and arrange an alternative date at no extra cost.

6. Liability

• We carry public liability insurance. Details are available on request.
• We will not be liable for any loss or damage that arises from information you provided that was inaccurate or incomplete.
• We are not liable for the loss of any items you failed to identify as excluded, or for cash, jewellery, or documents left in the property without prior agreement.
• Our total liability to you in connection with any job shall not exceed the price paid for that job, except where liability cannot be limited by law (e.g. death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

7. Disputes

If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us in the first instance so we can try to resolve the matter. We aim to respond to all complaints within 5 working days.

These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. The terms in force at the time you confirm a booking are the terms that apply to that booking.
